Responsibilities

We have built a number of products at Reedsy, including a marketplace (https://reedsy.com), the world's largest short story contest, and a book discovery platform (https://reedsy.com/discovery). We have millions of users and always looking to reach more.

You will:

• Design our end-to-end data infrastructure and implement tools for data visualization;
• Use Machine Learning and NLP to automatically analyze and categorize projects submitted on the marketplace;
• Improve funnel conversion tracking through our entire ecosystem;
• Conduct data analysis to optimize liquidity (offer/demand) on our marketplace (think "Reedsy search engine optimization") and Discovery (book submissions/reviewers);
• Work with different functions in our organisation that have critical data insight needs (eg. our marketing team for lead acquisition and growth); and
• Pro-actively find insights that help us make better products.

Requirements

You have strong enough development skills that you are not reliant on our developers to set things up for you. You have experience with:

• Elasticsearch
• Google BigQuery
• Using query language (SQL and variations)
• Data Mining (web crawling, open data, parsing)
• Scripting and programming (Python, R, Ruby)
• Machine Learning, ideally with some knowledge about Deep Learning
• Strong writing skills and native-level English speaker.
• Experience working remotely

Bonus points

• Experience creating robust and elegant dashboards to present data;
• A good dose of ambition, curiosity, as well as a great sense of humour.

Salary range:

€70k – €100k
